This is a rare opportunity to all songwriters. Skip Ewing has helmed the Horse & Writer Classic program for eight consecutive years, and is launching the premier Invitational program this year in the week preceding the Classic program’s ninth run. From August 24 -August 30, 2008, 20 hand-picked writers, on the merit of their work, will be invited on scholarship to receive concentrated songwriting mentorship in the areas of creativity, relationships, self-exploration and observation, the business of writing, craftsmanship and much more. Instruction includes: evaluations, writing exercises, observation, commentary, and staff presentations. It all takes place at the Lazy L&B Ranch in Dubois, WY. Local Rural Wisconsin folk artist Sue West is holding the First Annual Martell Rainbow Trout Folk Festival in Martell, WI. Held in the Martell Town Hall or at the town park which is right where Hwy. 63 crosses the river in Martell. Come out and enjoy listening to, or if you are a performer... be a charter participator in one of the music sets.
